Jolie and her humanitarian work around the world....

Angelina Jolie is an American film actor and a gooldwin ambasador for the UN Agency. She has received three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and an Academy Award. Jolie has promot humanitarian causes throughout the world and is noted for her work with refuges through UNHCR. She is cited frequently as one of the worlds most beautiful women and her offscreen life is widely reported.
Jolie became first personaly aware of worldwide humanitarian crises while filming Tomb Rider in Cambodia. She eventually turned to UNHCR for more information on international trouble spots. In the following months she visited refuge camps around the world learn more about the situation and the conditions in these areas. In February 2001, Jolie went on her first field visit, an 18-day mission to Sierra Leone and Tanzania, she later expressed her shock at what she had witnessed. Jolie has been on field missions around the world and met with refugees and internally displaced persons in more than 20 countries. In 2005 she was awarded the Global Humanitaria Award by the UNA.
